Our Mission & Who We Serve
A nonprofit, curated community for founders, investors, and builders creating impact-first organizations — where impact is the goal, not an afterthought.
Our Mission
The Impact Commons exists to support people who are actively building, funding, or preparing to build impact-first organizations.
We believe a more equitable and sustainable economy depends on founders, operators, and investors who choose impact as a primary goal, not a side effect. The Commons gives these individuals a place to connect, learn from one another, and collaborate without noise, hype, or performative engagement
Who the Impact Commons Serves
🛠️ Impact Builders
Founders and operators actively building organizations where impact is the goal, not an afterthought.
📈 Impact Investors
Allocators and investors who prioritize impact alongside financial sustainability.
The Impact Commons is intentionally curated.
This is not a public forum, social network, or content platform. It is a private Slack-based community designed to prioritize quality, trust, and relevance. We believe in:
✅ Signal over noise
✅ Depth over transactions
✅ Impact over everything
Our Guiding Principles
Quality Over Quantity
We choose alignment and depth over scale. Growth is intentional, not exponential.
Impact as a Primary Goal
Financial sustainability matters, but impact is what leads the way.
Curated, Not Exclusive
A filter for commitment and alignment — not credentials or status.
Community Stewardship
The community belongs to its members. We only moderate to protect the integrity and culture of the space.
Relationship to Resonary
The Impact Commons is developed and operated by Resonary, a nonprofit organization building tools and infrastructure for the impact economy.
Resonary is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All work on the Commons is done with a public benefit mandate — there are no commercial products, no investors, and no pressure to monetize the community. Over time, Resonary may offer optional tools to Commons members (such as profile pages, fundraising support, or resource libraries). These are designed for Impactists, by Impactists — and always optional.
The Commons is a community first. Tools come later, when they serve the community's needs. For more information about Resonary's mission and work, visit resonary.org
